Middleton Newsletter Team 2025
The Secondary Years newsletter team comprises Elliot, Mishika, Serena, Zara, Myra, Riya, Dana, Elsie, Olivia and Jessica, a group of enthusiastic students who are passionate about storytelling and communication. Through their writing, they aim to inspire, inform, and strengthen connections within the Middleton community, while developing their leadership skills and creative expression.
A thriving school community is built on more than inspiring lessons and purposeful learning, it is shaped by the compassion, commitment and expertise of the staff who support each student’s journey. At Middleton, we recognise the value and impact of every individual who contributes to our shared environment, creating a place where everyone can flourish.
To shine a light on the dedicated individuals who make a difference at Middleton, our Secondary Years students have created a newsletter series, People Behind Middleton. This student-driven project provides a space for storytelling, giving voice to those whose contributions help foster a purposeful and vibrant school community.
Meet Miss Sarah
You have probably seen her with a calm smile, a Band-Aid at the ready, always welcoming students with care. Nurse Sarah is the heart of our care centre at Middleton International School. She’s been supporting our school community for two years now, and we thought it was time everyone got to know her a little better. We asked Nurse Sarah some fun and unexpected questions, and she definitely kept it real!
1.If Band-Aids were a currency, how rich would you be by now?
Not a millionaire… but definitely a year’s worth of money at least!

2. What’s the weirdest thing a student thought would cure a headache?
A magic touch.
3. If you could add one magical tool to your nurse’s office, what would it be and why?
Honestly? A doctor.
4. If you had a superhero alter ego, what would your nurse superpower be, and would you wear a cape or scrubs?
Scrubs all the way! Got to be myself.
5. What’s your secret snack stash item when no one’s looking (and don’t say apples)?
I have got a secret compartment, but okay, I’ll share: crackers and nice cream biscuits.
6. If you could swap places with any animal for a day, which one would make the best school nurse, and why?
The cat that hangs around school. Everyone loves him. Emotional support, right?
7. But would the cat actually heal anyone?
Hey, most of us just need love and attention. That’s healing, too!
8. What’s the most “nurse-y” thing you do even when you're not at work?
Bandaging wounds! I’ve got three children, so... They fall, and I'll fix.

Whether she’s handing out Band-Aids or comfort, Nurse Sarah is always there with warmth, care, and a great sense of humour. We’re lucky to have her!
What This Initiative Means
Through initiatives like this student-led newsletter, Middleton continues to nurture confident communicators, creative thinkers, and responsible leaders. Student leadership opportunities like these empower students to take ownership of their ideas, tell meaningful stories, and recognise the many people who make our school such a caring and connected place.
